FanVu

FanVu

ABOUT

FanVu was looking for a video production partner to help with broadcasting high school football games in the Northeast Ohio area. They reached out in hopes that Cut ‘N’ Run would be the perfect fit.

PROCESS

Before each game, FanVu provides a rundown of each segment, sponsor callout, and commercial break to be aired during the broadcast. We program our show with the show notes and also pre-record the pregame so the timing and delivery works into the run of show seamlessly.

We work within their budget to provide enough cameras for cutaways and dynamics while maintaining the look and feel of a high-end production. We incorporate three cameras of instant replay and also tie into the official scoreboard to run our score clock graphics with ease. Our LiveU Solo provides a worry-free live stream connection, as well. The client provides a commentator and color analyst to help drive the broadcast.

FINAL DELIVERY

We provide a compressed video within a few hours upon the completion of each game so they can be used for other media purposes.

RESULTS

FanVu has hired Cut ‘N’ Run to produce the games for various high schools between the Massillon and Cleveland areas with various towns in between. They also have interest in having us other sports than high school football in the future.

US Sailing

U.S. Sailing

ABOUT

The U.S. Team Racing Championship, hosted by the Severn Sailing Association (SSA) in Annapolis, MD had a need for live streaming the races for the George R. Hinman Trophy. The organization discovered Cut ‘N’ Run through a web search in hopes to find their next video production company that can conquer the feat in live streaming sailing racing.

PROCESS

Cut ‘N’ Run and U.S. Sailing teamed up to conceptualize the best options for sending a crew from Pittsburgh to Annapolis to capture upwards of eight hours of content for the live streams in tandem with their own production team. Traditional broadcast cameras were unable to capture this event since the action happens on open water so we deployed two drones to capture an aerial view of each race. By using two drones, we could keep one pinned on the race and the next drone was ready to take over when the first one’s battery started to drain.

Commentators helped drive the show so viewers had constant engagement and direction as to what was happening out on the water. The client supplied sponsor commercials to air a few times throughout each day as well as sponsor logos on an overlay. We delpoyed a media boat with a GoPro Hero 12 and a LiveU Solo Pro to get an up-close angle in the mix.

FINAL DELIVERY

Using the footage captured in conjunction with a site photographer’s images captured during the race weekend, we created a highlight/promotional video to advertise the event which can also be used to promote future races. The client now has access to our footage and the switch for their own internal use.

RESULTS

U.S. Sailing and Severn Sailing Association were pleased with the quality of production Cut ‘N’ Run was able to produce and they are interested in future projects together. The live stream, which aired on Vimeo.com and embedded on the client’s website, had thousands of viewers throughout the race weekend.

Pittsburgh Steelers

ABOUT

Cast members of NBC’s “This is Us” Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore visited Acrisure Stadium, formerly known as Heinz Field, to announce one of the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ draft picks. The Steelers organization wanted to use this opportunity to obtain promotional material for NFL Sunday Night Football and for use on their in stadium jumbotron video display. Cut ‘N’ Run was brought on to capture as much content as possible with the talent in two hours, just before the draft pick announcement.

It was crucial to be as mobile and quick as possible, which Cut ‘N’ Run was able to deliver on. Scripts for the promotions were drafted by the Steelers marketing team.

PROCESS

The production began with a green screen shoot then moved to three other locations. A teleprompter was positioned in the first scene but the talent was required to memorize lines or read from cards for the remaining scenes. A Sony FS7 and Glidecam HD-2000 were the most mobile options used to quickly capture each scene and move onto the next. All scenes were successfully shot in the two hour time block.

RESULTS

The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to gather all the necessary content for their marketing campaign in a tight timeline with high quality results.  Their social media campaign had over 125,000 views.

FINAL DELIVERY

The final product appeared on the NFL’s Sunday Night Football broadcast as well as the Jumbotron inside the Steelers’ stadium. Material from the shoot was also used by the Steelers organization’s social media pages.

Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix

Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix

ABOUT

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association wanted a solution to broadcast their two-day event without immense costs.  The event features a car show, interviews and multiple races featuring vintage cars competing in a unique city street race track in Schenley Park. Cut ‘N’ Run offered an elaborate setup to cover the races and events using multiple cameras positioned throughout the race.  For interviews, a stage was setup.  In between live races and interviews, pre-recorded content was aired from Cut ‘N’ Run’s studio to keep the audience watching on TV and the internet entertained.

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association’s events are used to raise funds to help provide support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Western PA.  With this in mind, the association needed to find a cost-effective solution to produce and broadcast the races and events.

Offering the event to watch live by anyone around the world, the event expanded viewership while generating funds to the association’s cause.

PROCESS

Multiple cameras were positioned throughout the race track at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.  A drone also provided an aerial view of the race.  The cameras were transmitted from Schenley Park back to our studios in Beechview where the director switched the camera feeds to seamlessly follow the action.  The multicam live stream featured live graphics, commercials, pre-recorded content, replays and advertisements.

Communications from our crew at the race location to our crew back at the studio was handled through two-way radios programmed off repeaters.

The event and races were broadcast live to the web, social media and broadcast television.

In addition to the races, a stage was setup for interviews with event participants and racers.  The stage featured handheld microphones for the on-air guests and a two-camera setup.  The interviews were both featured live and recorded for use later in the broadcast.

Instant statistics were also directly wired to the master station in order to display accurate rankings and times.

Along with the live stream and broadcast, the event was also featured live on monitors placed throughout the park so guests could watch the broadcast live on location.

RESULTS

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix was able to provide their fans at home, around the world and at the event the ability to watch each race and interviews.

With the event coverage, the association now has a tool they can use to help expand their marketing efforts with the goal to expand advertising opportunities and ultimately more funds raised for their charities.

FINAL DELIVERY

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix’s races and events during their two-day event broadcast live on TV, online, social media and monitors placed throughout the park.  Snippets and replays of the races and events were made available for their website and social media, including their YouTube channel.
